Istanbul — When an airline operates the largest route network in the world, training consistency isn't just a regulatory requirement—it is the absolute foundation of operational safety. Following the resounding success of our initial EBT phases, we are honoured to announce a major extension of our partnership with Turkish Airlines.
While transitioning to Evidence-Based Training (EBT) transforms recurrent simulator checks, true operational excellence requires that every phase of a pilot's lifecycle is evaluated through the exact same lens. Turkish Airlines is now taking the visionary step to expand our collaboration, rolling out comprehensive Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) across their wider training portfolios.
Harmonizing the Entire Training Footprint
By extending the world-leading architecture beyond EBT, Turkish Airlines is ensuring that a pilot undergoing a Command Upgrade, a Type Rating transition, or specialized line training is assessed using the exact same competency language.
This wider implementation brings several monumental advantages to the Turkish Airlines flight training department:
- Universal Standardisation: Instructors across entirely different aircraft fleets and training phases are now calibrated to the same Observable Behaviours (OBs).
- Data Continuity: By utilizing a single grading language, the airline can track a pilot's true competency development from their first day in the academy to their final simulator check as a Senior Captain.
- Instructor Agility: Trainers can seamlessly transition between different instructional roles (e.g., from recurrent checking to command upgrade training) without needing to relearn grading rubrics.
A wider CBTA rollout requires more than just updated manual text; it requires a deep, paradigm shift among the instructor body. Our continued on-site Train-the-Trainer courses and ICAP integrations will ensure that every single trainer is fully equipped to deliver this new standard.
"Scaling a competency framework across an operation of this magnitude proves that CBTA is not just a passing regulatory trend—it is the definitive future of global aviation training. Turkish Airlines continues to lead from the front."
We are deeply grateful for the continued trust of the Turkish Airlines management team and are excited to push the boundaries of what a unified, data-driven training department can achieve.
