Istanbul — Launching a brand-new training methodology across a major commercial airline requires expert guidance and a strong collaborative spark. Heading east to the vibrant aviation hub of Istanbul, our advisory team was proud to deliver Pegasus Airlines' very first Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) Train-the-Trainer course.
As modern aviation accelerates its transition toward competency-based frameworks, equipping an airline's core instructor network with the right tools from day one is essential. This inaugural course marked the exciting beginning of a transformative partnership designed to embed absolute standardisation across Pegasus's flight training operations.
Laying the Cornerstone of Competency-Based Training
During this intensive, hands-on course, Pegasus Airlines' training managers and lead simulator instructors worked closely with our founders to master the foundational mechanics of our leading CBTA architecture:
- Behavioral Observation Standards: Learning how to objectively assess core competencies and Observable Behaviours (OBs) without bias.
- Threat and Error Management (TEM): Elevating debriefing techniques to transform simulator sessions into powerful learning experiences.
- Instructor Calibration: Establishing strict concordance baselines to eliminate evaluation drift across the instructor community.
The enthusiasm, technical curiosity, and dedication demonstrated by the Pegasus training team during this first course were truly inspiring.
"Starting a CBTA journey with a dedicated, forward-thinking operator like Pegasus Airlines is always exhilarating. This first Train-the-Trainer course set an exceptional standard for the future."
We extend our deepest thanks to everyone at Pegasus Airlines for a fantastic inaugural course and look forward to supporting their ongoing training evolution.
