Riga — Sustaining momentum during a major operational transition requires boots on the ground, close collaboration, and continuous instructor support. As the autumn winds swept across the Baltics, our advisory team headed back to Riga to support the ongoing Evidence-Based Training (EBT) roll-out at airBaltic.

Following their roadmap to become the the first operator in Latvia to achieve Mixed EBT approval, airBaltic's commitment to scaling the framework across their growing pilot network remained uncompromising. Our autumn visit focused heavily on expanding instructor capacity and fine-tuning evaluation protocols.

Accelerating the Roll-Out with Precision

During our time in Riga, we worked shoulder-to-shoulder with airBaltic’s training management and simulator instructors, utilizing our unique EBT architecture to ensure seamless progression:

  • Expanding Instructor Cohorts: Delivering focused Train-the-Trainer sessions to onboard new evaluators smoothly into the EBT pipeline.
  • Refining Debriefing Standards: Enhancing Threat and Error Management (TEM) delivery to ensure maximum learning impact in every simulator session.
  • Maintaining Grading Concordance: Conducting calibration exercises to eliminate evaluation drift as the instructor network scales.

The dedication and professional rigor demonstrated by the airBaltic training team continue to set a stellar benchmark for regional aviation.

"Scaling an EBT program successfully requires absolute dedication from the entire training department. airBaltic's commitment during this autumn roll-out phase has been truly outstanding."

We extend our warmest thanks to everyone at airBaltic for their continued hospitality and partnership as we build the future of flight safety together.
